Working Hours is a staff rota inside your Canvas admin. Build the week from your usual shifts, publish it, and each person is told only what changed for them.
![[Sample] A week of a team’s shifts, one row per person](/api/media/file/rotaWeek.webp)
Your team down the side, the days across, and a total for every day and every person.
Save Opening, Lunch or Close once, with their hours and breaks, and drop them onto the week. A shift past midnight is fine.
Most weeks look like the one before. Copy it and change what is different.
Two shifts at once, a shift on someone’s day off or a week over their contracted hours is flagged - and left for you to decide.
Your team sees nothing until you publish. Then each person gets an email or a phone notification with only their own new, moved or removed shifts.
Planned hours per person for the week or the month, next to what their contract says, with a spreadsheet to download.
Drag your usual shifts onto the week, or copy last week’s.
The warnings and the totals show what needs another look.
See exactly who will be told what, then send it.
Move a shift later and publish again: only that person hears about it.
Each person can have their own login that shows their upcoming shifts and nothing else - not the bookings, not the takings, not anyone else’s week.
They ask for leave or say when they cannot work. You approve or decline it, and they are told.
They offer a shift to a colleague, the colleague accepts, and you approve it - or let accepted swaps go through on their own.
Working Hours is a service you add to any Canvas site, billed once a year like your domain and email. It works for a restaurant, a salon, a shop or an office, and it does not need the bookings module.
On this site, Taverna Thymari’s sample team has a week already published and next week in draft, with a request for time off waiting. Ask us and we will walk you through it in the admin.
No. The rota is who works when; the booking hours are when customers can book. Working Hours never reads or changes them, so a rota mistake can never close your diary.
Tell us how many people are on your team and how you make the rota today, and we will get back to you.
Canvas sites are built by House of Code in Cyprus. Tell us about your business and we will show you what yours would look like.
